Sherman Prize 10-Year Anniversary

Motivated by their own family’s journey with IBD, Bruce and Cynthia Sherman created what has become one of the most respected honors in our field. In 2016, the Sherman Prize was established in the spirit of making a difference, recognizing outstanding contributions to IBD and inspiring others to elevate their work.

Over the past 10 years, the Sherman Prize has awarded $2.25 million to IBD physician scientists and practitioners who, through their groundbreaking work, have advanced the science and deepened our understanding of IBD. Honoring these individuals and supporting them is critically important. With innovative new therapies and optimized treatment practices, they have moved the field forward, improving the care of people living with these diseases and encouraging the next generation of IBD researchers.

The 10th anniversary video reflects the vision, generosity, and steadfast commitment of the Sherman family, whose leadership continues to create a ripple effect, spreading awareness, innovation, and inspiration throughout the IBD community.
